A Laughter Filled Christmas Eve!

We started off Christmas Eve morning finding Buddy in the bathroom fishing for goldfish.

We decided to do our final advent reading that morning since we would be having a busy afternoon and evening.  Ava Kate had been waiting the whole advent season for this day because the lamb ornament was her favorite.  Everyday she would say do we get to read about the lamb today so when the day finally came she was very excited.  We talked about Jesus as our lamb and how he was the sacrifice for our sins.  We had planned to make him a birthday cake on Christmas Day but unfortunately we all forgot.

One of my favorite Christmas Eve traditions is attending the candlelight Christmas Eve service at our church.  Although it was a little crazy trying to keep a 3 year old and 1 year old occupied and quiet.

After the Christmas Eve service everyone came to our house for an evening of Mexican food, reading the Christmas story together, singing Christmas carols, exchanging gifts, a white elephant gift exchange and minute to win  it games!  It was one of the most fun evenings I've had in a long time.  We were laughing so hard we were crying!

We passed around the little Christmas story book and each took a turn reading part of it.

Papa and Nathan led us in some Christmas carols, such a sweet moment.

I think Jett wanted a bike, he was playing with sisters and wanted to sit on my pretty new cruiser!

I foresee a lot bike rides in our future!

This is what our night was full of, lots of laughter!

First we played the eat an oreo that is on your forehead without using your hands in a minute game, Sarah was our only successful contestant at this game!

Next up was the get all of the ping pong balls out of the Kleenex box by wiggling and shaking all you got!

Then we played the knock over the cans with the yoyo game, Ethan and Pop tied for first in this game!

And last up the panty hose jousting game!

After everyone went home it was time to put out Santa's cookies...

and milk...

And here you can see the children were nestled all snug in MY bed!
