A Weekend at Double Deer Ranch

To celebrate our 10th anniversary Justin and I decided a weekend getaway was much needed!  This was our first weekend to go away without kids since before having kids!  I had been looking forward to it for weeks and it did not disappoint!  We stayed at a great place just outside of Fredericksburg called Double Deer Ranch in the Coyote Barn!  It was a stone barn decorated in a modern/rustic/eclectic style which was the perfect blend of our two styles!  It was great having no agenda, being able to sit down and talk and take our time through our delicious meals, taking naps, I enjoyed the whirlpool tub, we did a little leisurely shopping, watching a movie uninterrupted, sleeping in during the cozy rainstorm and just enjoying each others company without distraction or interruption!

And while we were away, the kids had a blast with their grandparents!  Ava Kate got to stay at our  house with Grandma and they did some shopping, went to the museum and Sleeping Beauty!

Jett had fun staying with Nana and Pop and playing with his cousins Keller and Ethan!  Jett is crazy about his Pop and Pop is crazy about him and they had lots of fun just being silly together and we got to enjoy some of it on video!

And by Sunday I was itching to get home to my babies!  And to think I wanted to go away somewhere for a week  instead of just a weekend getaway, there is no way I would have survived that long!
