We're Off to See the Wizard!

We had a very fun Halloween this year and all got into the Wizard of Oz theme which all began when someone had given us their lion costume for Jett.  From there we found Ava Kate a Dorothy costume and then the afternoon of Halloween I decided Justin and I had to participate too so we threw together some last minute costumes which turned out pretty well for being so last minute.  Ava Kate was so excited that we were all dressed up. 

We continued our tradition of frito chili pies with family and friends at our house followed by trick or treating around the circle.  Its nights like Halloween that make me love living on the circle.  Lots of fun memories made on this circle. 

Halloween Party

Ava Kate had lots of fun at her Halloween Party this year.  She loved making a cotton bowl ghost and bowling with pumpkins and toilet paper ghosts but I think what she enjoyed most of all was helping Mrs. Willliams choose and lead the songs, precious girl!

Carving Pumpkins on a Beautiful Day

Sunday after church we all went back to Nana and Pop's house for some pumpkin carving fun.  The kids were all excited and on board for the first thirty minutes or so and then they all lost interest and the adults were left to do the rest of the work, that's about right!  It was fun all the same and the weather was gorgeous so we took our carving outside.  I gathered all the seeds and roasted some yummy pumkin seeds! 

St. Johns Halloween Carnival

 Our first Halloween festivity of the year was the St. Johns Halloween Carnival.  Grandma and Nana got to go with us.  Ava Kate loved seeing all of her friends and her teacher Mrs. Williams.  Ava Kate and Jett both loved the little baby pigs that were racing.  And we won lots of cupcakes at the cake walk.
