Happy 1st Birthday Jett!

We started off our sweet boy's 1st birthday with a little family celebration.  We woke up and sang Happy Birthday together, Ava Kate was already singing Happy Birthday before he was even awake, she was so excited!  Then she helped him open his birthday presents, she picked out a Dumbo birthday card for him and stacking blocks like the ones she had when she was a baby until she ate them all!  We got our ball obsesssed boy a little ball shooting toy along with a trampoline from all the family which still needs to be assembled.  After playing with his new toys for a while we celebrated with some cinnamon rolls before Justin and Ava Kate had to go to school.  I took the day off to spend with my little one year old.  We went to Mine By Design and picked out his special birthday plate and put his little footprint on the bottom.  Then we had lunch with Grandma at Jason's Deli, where he enjoyed one of his favorites, macaroni and cheese.  After lunch we met Nana at the zoo.  Jett loved it!  He tried to leap out of our arms several times to join the animals.  He especially loved the otters, giraffe and monkeys!  And he decided to start walking while we were at the zoo too!  Then we headed home for a nap.  That evening we met all of our family at Rosa's for one of his other favorites, rice and beans.  After dinner we came back to our house for his first cupcake and to watch his birthday video of his first year of photos that his daddy made him.  It was a perfect day of celebrating our sweet boy!

12 Months

My sweet little pumpkin,

Happy 1st Birthday!  The last year has flown by and yet it is so hard to remember life before we had you!  You are the perfect addition to our family.  Your sister loves all things girl and you are all boy!  You have an obsession with balls in fact you often pick up things around the house that are not balls and proclaim "Bah" and then proceed to throw it.  You appear to have no fear, you frequently try to dive off the side of our bed, you rarely go a day without a bruise or scrape of some sort on your head, you started walking on your first birthday and you have no fear of falling and when you do fall you just hop right up and try again.  You are cutting about 6 teeth on top right  now after finally getting your first 2 teeth around 11 months.  You weighed 24lbs (70%) and 30 inches (50%) and as Dr. Wiley said you still have a very big head but then again you come from a family of big heads!  You still look like you could be your sister's twin, we hear that from everyone!  You love your sister and get the biggest smile on your face in the mornings when you first see her.  You love your mama and could probably be called a mama's boy but at the same time you also adore daddy and men in general make you laugh especially Pop!  You love to eat but seem to be a little more of a picky eater than your sister was as a baby.  Your favorites are spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, hummus and beans and rice.  You have no interest in sitting and listening to books or watching TV, you just want to be on the move all the time.  You are a pure joy to all of your family and we're so thankful that one year ago today God blessed our family with sweet little you!
