From 13 to 31

We spent this past weekend with my best friend Robyn and her family on the ranch they live on! Robyn and I have been best friends since we were 13. Our birthdays are 1 day apart and our moms were in the hospital together with us. We have celebrated all the big milestone birthdays together, laughed so hard we cried on many occasions, gotten into some trouble together and seen each other through many ups and downs of life! It is one of those once in a lifetime friendships and I'm so blessed to call her my best friend! We have been having silly photo shoots together since we were 13 and below is our first one and our most recent one from this weekend. I found several others to get scanned and will add those later.

It was the perfect weekend getaway filled with way too much delicious food, lots of laughter and many more memories made to add to the 18 years of history we have together. We took the kids on a picnic Saturday, took some family pictures for Jerrod and Robyn, ate two amazing dinners and Sunday went to the zoo. Ava had a blast between playing with Lexi, Will and Tate, the dogs, cows and horses on the ranch and then seeing all the animals at the zoo.

Books, bubbles and bye bye

Splish splash look who had her first bubble bath and loved it! She also liked eating the bubbles, big surprise, this girl will eat anything!





She still loves books and anyone that will sit and read with her like daddy and grandma.


She has added another word to her vocabulary too- bye bye but still holding out on saying mama, little stinker!

Our Own Little Piece of Paradise

Well last fall the patio got poured just in time for the cold yucky weather so we didn't get to enjoy it much. That has all changed with this beautiful spring weather we have been having. This is our escape pretty much every afternoon when we all get home from work. Because we spend so much time back here now we decided it was time to do some work to get it looking better so that is what we spent a lot of last weekend working on and I'm so pleased with the result. I find I can't wait to get back there and sit and listen to the wind chimes and birds. Although we still have some work to do, it truly has become our little piece of paradise.

And the Birthday Festivities Continue

March was full of birthday celebrations, first Natalie, then Keller, me and Ava Kate. We take a couple weeks off from the partying and pick right back up in April with Justin and mom's birthdays. Unfortunately I have not been as good about bringing the camera along lately so I didn't get all the celebrations captured but here are a couple of my favorites.

Look who officially began toddling around tonight. She just took off when we got home this evening!

Ou-Side

We have been spending a lot of time ou-side lately! Ava Kate loves to be outside these days. It is one of her favorite words too. She has really enjoyed her playhouse she got for her birthday and even got to ride on the four wheelers last weekend. Last week mom and I took her and Ethan to the zoo and she had a ball especially now that she is standing and taking some steps on her own. These are some of my favorite photos of our recent outdoor activities.
