Girls Weekend 2012
After missing the last 3 annual girls weekend I finally made it this year and it was so fabulous! This was my first time to ever spend the night away from Jett so I was a little torn about leaving him but it was definately just what this tired mama needed! We didn't have a glamourous trip planned but it was absolutely perfect. Casey graciously opened her home to all of us so we spent the weekend in the Metroplex. Friday morning Jill and I packed up the car and drove to Dallas. We started off with a delicious but ridiculously huge lunch which we followed up with some shopping! Then we headed back to Casey's to wait for the rest of the girls to arrive. Once everyone was there we headed to a delicious Mexican food restaurant around the corner from Casey's house. After dinner we spent the rest of the evening on Casey's back porch drinking wine and talking, laughing, crying and dreaming of the future together, always my favorite part of our girls trips! Saturday we got up and took a walk to Starbucks for a little caffeine to get us all moving after a very late night. Then we stopped off at the grocery store for some snacks and things for dinner and headed to Casey's sister's inlaws house for some pool time. We spent all afternoon swimming, laying out, sipping on Maggie's specialty drinks and talking and laughing some more. Casey and Kellie grilled us dinner and we followed that up with smore's in the fireplace and then Maggie led us in some camp/praise songs while we sat by the fire. A special night! Sunday morning we got up late after two late nights and a day in the sun and we went for an amazing brunch where we shared french toast, pancakes, migas, juevos rancheras and mimosas. After a long brunch it was time to say goodbye to some and so a few of us headed to North Park for a quick stop that of course turned into a longer stop. While we were there Kimberly and I got unexpected makeovers in Nordstrom, we decided maybe they could see that we were tired mama's. After our shopping trip it was time to head home. And although I had a blast with all my girlfriends I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready to get home to my babies!
