Ava Kate's First Day of Transition

Ava Kate had a great first day of transition class at St. Johns! She was so happy to go back, she got up and got herself dressed and she literally bounced right into classroom and barely turned around to say goodbye! She even has her own locker this year, big girl! She really seems to like her teacher Mrs. Williams and her aid Mrs. Carla. She loves the home center in their room and she has two new best friends she says, Haylee and Addy! I have a feeling it is going to be a great year!

A Girls Day Out!

Since Justin had to be back at school on Monday but Ava Kate didn't go back until Tuesday I decided to take the day off so we could have a girls day out together! We started with AM donuts, then we had mani/pedis together, then Ava chose Red Robin for lunch and then we went to see Brave! It was a special day with my sweet girl!

Lately Ava Kate has been gathering all of her dolls and stuffed animals and pretending they are all her children, phew, it makes me exhausted just looking at it!

Adventures in Eating

This boy loves food! His favorites are very similar to his sisters- rice and beans, spaghetti, pizza, macaroni and cheese and mommy is thrilled to have someone that loves hummus as much as she does!

Mommy Daughter Date Night

Recently Ava Kate and I went to a Mommy Daughter Date Night at the country club with a bunch of friends and there little ones. It was right up this little girls alley. They had people doing hair, nails and makeup for the girls. Ava Kate chose a fancy braid, pink and green nail polish and blue eyeshadow. After they got all dolled up they had boas and jewelry for the girls to put on. Then we got to take pictures together in the photo booth and last but certainly not least was the fashion show the girls put on complete with a runway! It was so fun and watching the girls do their walks was priceless! My sometimes shy girl was not shy at all once she was on that stage in fact they could hardly get her off of it! But my phone died and I didn't have my camera so I'm hoping someone will pass along some of the pictures they got.

A Farewell Summer Swim Party

To celebrate the start of a new school year and the end of summer we had one last swim party at Mrs. Susans! Love that Robyn and her family are here now and we can do things like this more often!

One Final Summer Getaway

We didn't plan any big trips this summer, just some small weekend getaways and our last one was a trip to Austin to stay with our family there. We all love Austin... the cousins, the food, the springs, the food, the ice cream, the shopping, the food! The first day we were there we hit Anthropologie, Amy's Ice Cream and Phil's Ice House. Three of my favorites! That night we went to Torchy's Tacos and then went down to Zilker Park for a dip in Barton Springs followed by The Sound of Music Musical performed in the park! That was such a fun night! The next day Lila and I took a sewing class together and came home with cute matching skirts! She is quite the seamstress, I can't wait to see her next creation! That evening we hit the food trucks to try out all kinds of deliciousness! Can you tell our favorite thing to do when we visit Austin is eat! Saturday morning we had brunch at my favorite restaurant in the whole world or at least of those I've tried, La Condesa, and it did not disappoint! We started with fennel and fig yogurt, followed by an assortment of salsas and guacamoles of which my favorite was the guacamole with watermelon, I enjoyed a orange marmalade margarita, then we had our entrees, I had the amazing pork tacos and then they surprised us with desserts for the table and to top it all off the owners had paid for the entire tab! That was a great treat! After brunch we shopped around downtown for a while and that evening we went back to Barton Springs for another dip. On the way home we were still hungry so we hit the pizza food truck and it hit the spot! It was a great time eating, swimming and playing with the family!
